Pain Management
“The natural healing force within each of us is the greatest force in getting well.”
Hippocrates
Diffusion tensor imaging of the brain shows our mind is a network of wiring, transmitting tens of thousands of thoughts a day. What thoughts we give our attention to determine how we think, feel, and act in any given moment. With more adaptive thoughts about pain, we may better understand the power we have to heal. Pain Management
There are many way to treat pain, and there is no definite right or wrong way to treat it. Individuals respond very differently to different treatments, and the best treatment is what works for you.
Interventional Spine Procedures
- Lumbar and Cervical (back and neck) epidural injections
- Peripheral Joint (knee and hip) injections
- Facet joint blocks
- Radiofrequency ablation
Medical Acupuncture
I may use this as an adjunctive therapy for pain, based on Kiiko’s Japanese style acupuncture using palpatory diagnosis and practical in-office sessions.
Electrodiagnostics
All nerve pain/dysfunction/injuries are first evaluated by history and physical examination. A definitive diagnosis can then be made with nerve conduction studies and electromyography (EMG).

Mission
I believe in a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to pain management. When it comes to chronic pain, thorough evaluations, individualized treatment plans, and a combination of Eastern and Western approaches are most successful. Sometimes it is very difficult to take away one’s pain completely; but I believe that there is always a way to feel better and regain control over it.
